Descriptions of our reoccurring events

Open Space

Every Wednesday we open up at 7 pm for our Open Space meeting (except at Orga Meetup days, there we start a little later).
At these evenings everyone is welcome. Wether you like to present one of your projects, need some help solving a problem or want to explore the space and its creatures, it is the perfect day to do so.

Orga Meetup

Every first Wednesday of the month at 6 pm we meet for our Orga Meetup (organizational meeting).
At this meeting we do all the planing for our events and room-upgrades. Like SPACE summer party, participation Chaos events like the Chaos Communication Congress and renovation and maintenance work of our room and stuff.

Freifunk Meetup

At the Freifunk meetup all the people come together who are interestes in or have questions about Freifunk.
Freifunk is an open and non-commercial wireless lan network, provided by volunteers.
During the meetup we work on router hardware, e.g. install required open source firmware based on Gluon and OpenWRT or discuss and test old and new router models.

Di-Day

Every first Sunday of the month is the official Digital Independence Day! #DID
This day was initiated by Marc Uwe Kling and Linus Neumann at the 39. Chaos Communication Congress and we are part of the movement!
Come around if you need help or looking for digital alternatives.
Regardless whether you like to try out Linux, or a different messenger on your smartphone, need suggestions for a different web search engine or a google-free email service, or …
Tip: From our experience we know that it is sometimes more difficult to come up with a new nickname or username than to install a new program or operating system. So if you come to us already with a few nickname ideas, it might help. :)
Also, we can not stress this enough - Do a good backup of your data and login information!

International Open Hackspace Day

Once a year, in March is the International Open Hackspace Day - celebreated all over the world!
Our doors will be open from afternoon till night and you can explore our space, tools, machines, projects and us. Sometimes we also bake waffles! 😋

Summer party

In the summertime, when the weather is high 🎶 ..we invite you and all Hackspaces and Freifunk groups from Thuringia to our summer party.
There will a barbecue and cool drinks. A good opportunity to meet people from other hackspaces.
Feel free to bring something else to eat or to drink to share with others, so we all have nice and cozy summer afternoon.
